Mountains, canyons, plains — these geological features are not only present on land, but also under the sea, where scientists have now charted them in incredible detail in the ocean surrounding Antarctica. The five-year project mapped 18.5 million square miles, and even revealed a new deepest point in the Southern Ocean, a depression lying 7,432 meters (24,383 feet) below sea level called the Factorian Deep. This study and others like it around the world are filling major scientific gaps in our understanding of what the ocean floor looks like, a key part of knowing how to foster ocean health. More mapping also enables us to make an even stronger science-backed case for marine protected areas. If you want to turn this positive progress into action, you can join us today as we call on world leaders to protect Antarctica and secure the largest act of ocean protection in history. We’re close to reaching our goal of 250,000 petition signatures!
Three solutions that supersize impact for people and planet.
With our monthly membership, fund projects that support three crucial solutions for ocean and climate health.

Restore mangrove forests
These remarkable ocean trees can store four times more carbon than rainforests on land.

Rebuild coral reefs
Reefs are home to 25% of marine species, but face an existential threat from global warming.

Stop ocean plastic
Plastic that enters the ocean kills wildlife and eventually finds its way into our bodies, but we can stop the tide of pollution.
How we select world-class projects
We only support trusted, locally-rooted project partners backed by the latest science.
Proven projects
Every project is vetted by our expert advisors, and each of our partners has a track record of proven impact.
Global goals
Our projects prioritize local livelihoods and ecosystems while moving the needle on global ocean and climate health through the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Rigorous reporting
We track every single cent of impact back to our partners in the field. We attach a unique ID to every tree, every coral, and every gram of plastic.

Want to become one of our project partners?
We are on the lookout for proven projects focused on mangrove restoration, coral planting, and plastic removal year round, to supersize impact. If you are part of or know of a project like this, let us know.
